This is a Winterhalder & Hofmeier German quarter hour bracket clock in a mahogany case with ormolu mounts, circa 1890. The side windows have cast decorations with fabric backing. The arched dial has an engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, a matte brass center, and corner spandrels; there is an ormolu sun in the center of the arch with 2 small dials; one for regulation and the other for silent/chime. The front door has heavy beveled glass, and there are 3 ormolu finials on the top of the case, the top finial looks like a torch. The clock sits on cast ormolu feet, and the 8 day movement, powered by a chain double fusee strikes the 1/4 hours and the hours on gongs for a bim-bam strike.
