This is a Winterhalder & Hofmeier bracket clock in a mahogany case with satinwood banding, circa 1890-1900. The arched front door is brass with heavy beveled glass. The dial has a brass plate with an engraved silver chapter ring with Roman numerals, bottom brass corner spandrels and a regulation dial in the arch with brass spandrels surrounding it. The clock sits on brass ogee feet, and there are brass handles on the sides. The 8 day spring wound movement plays Westminster chimes on 4 coiled gongs on the 1/4 hours and strikes the hours on 1 coiled gong.
