AMERICAN TALL CASE MADE BY DAVID WOOD, CIRCA 1800-1825 AND WAS MADE IN NEWBURY-PORT, MA. THE CASE APPEARS TO BE CHERRY WOOD. THE BONNET HAS FRETWORK ON TOP, 3 SLENDER CHIMNEYS WITH BRASS FINIALS ON TOP, THERE IS ALSO 2 FULL COLUMNS; ONE ON EACH FRONT CORNER OF THE BONNET WITH BRASS CAPS AND BASES, THERE ARE 1/4 COLUMNS WITH BRASS CAPS & BASES AT THE REAR OF THE BONNET.

THE DIAL IS PAINTED AND HAS A BIRD IN THE ARCH ENCIRCLED BY AN OVAL OF FLOWERS. THE CORNER SPANDRELS ARE PAINTED WITH ROSES. THE DIAL HAS PAINTED ROMAN NUMERALS WITH OUTSIDE ARABIC 5 MINUTE MARKERS, A SECONDS BIT AND A CALENDAR MOUTH FOR THE DATE, BELOW THAT IS THE SIGNATURE "DAVID WOOD, NEWBURY-PORT".

THE WAIST OF THE CLOCK IS PINCHED AND HAS A RECTANGULAR DOOR WITH MOLDING ALL AROUND THE DOOR. THE ARE 1/4 MODINGS WITH BRASS CAPS AND BASES ON EACH SIDE OF THE DOOR.

THE BASE SITS ON BRACKET FEET.

THE 8 DAY WEIGHT DRIVEN MOVEMENT STRIKES THE HOUR ON A BELL.

**IT APPEARS TO BE A MARRIAGE; THE DIAL FRAME IS NEW AND MADE TO FIT THE DIAL.
